Before Donating Used Clothing:
(1) Ask yourself if you would happily share this piece of clothing with a best friend, your grown child, or a person you know and love.
- If not, can it be mended or fixed to make it a higher quality? If it can be repaired, do you want to do it? If you don't want to repair it, this garment can be donated to a thrift store for resale. A lot of people thrift and mend if it is a GOOD garment. And you know if it is GOOD good or not.
- And if not mendable, toss it in the trash or find a way to repurpose it yourself. Nobody wants your junk, unless they specifically say they want your junk.
(2) Is it in season?
- If not, do you want to hold the out of season good stuff until it is in season? Great! Stash it now and give it when in demand.
(3) Wash it. (Yes, I know it is "clean" but it needs to be clean clean.) Fold it nicely. Imbue it with love.
(4) Place lovingly into a clean bag and it is ready to be shared in the community.
